My personality?

This was the results of the last personality test I did.

  • Your solid grounding in the practicalities of life, along with your self-assuredness and your willingness to appreciate new things make you a LEADER.

  • You're in touch with what is going on around you and adept at remaining down-to-earth and logical.

  • Although you're detail-oriented, this doesn't mean that you lose the big picture.

  • You tend to find beauty in form and efficiency, as opposed to finding it in broad-based, abstract concepts.

  • Never one to pass on an adventure, you're consistently seeking and finding new things, even in your immediate surroundings.

  • Because of this eagerness to pursue new experiences, you've learned a lot; your attention to detail means that you gain a great deal from your adventures.

  • The intellectual curiosity that drives you leads you to seek out causes of and reasons behind things.

  • Your confidence gives you the potential to take your general awareness and channel it into leadership.

  • You're not set on one way of doing things, and you often have the skills and persistence to find innovative ways of facing challenges.

  • You are well-attuned to your talents, and can deal with most problems that you face.

  • Your independent streak allows you to make decisions efficiently and to trust your instincts

  • You tend to do things on the spur of the moment, not sticking to a set schedule.

  • You do your own thing when it comes to clothing, guided more by practical concerns than by other people's notions of style.

  • The control you feel over your life is empowering to you-- you believe in your abilities and acknowledge your shortcomings. Explanations of the world that focus on destiny or fate don't really interest you. You take responsibility for what goes wrong in your life, and also for what goes well.

  • If you want to be different:

  • There's more to life than the practical - take some time to daydream and explore the aesthetic sides of things.

  • how you relate to others

    You are Animated

  • You are outgoing, comfortable with others, and up for anything, which makes you ANIMATED.

  • Some people find crowds and parties exhausting, but not you! You are able to be yourself in many situations.

  • Sometimes it is hard for you to understand why others feel the way they do, but that doesn't stop you from trusting them or having faith that they are good people.

  • You know the world is complicated and that there is often more than one side to a story, so you are careful not to make judgments about others too hastily.

  • You would rather experience the world than sit back and observe it—you are not one to sit on the sidelines.

  • You are an independent thinker and don't get too worried about how others might perceive you—you are not self-conscious about being the active, engaged person that you are.

  • Although you have a keen understanding of different people's life circumstances, you occasionally have trouble seeing why people get so upset and emotional about things—they should just lighten up and have fun!

  • In addition to having faith in the world, you have faith in the people around you—you trust others to do the right thing and to be honest.

  • What am I going to do today?

The Grumpy Man told me I could drill the hole in the laundry room for the new water hook-up for the fridge. We're moving the fridge from one side of the kitchen to the other, he says it will make more sense and give us more room. Now we'll be able to put the back door so that it opens into the back yard instead of the side yard.

I don't know if it will really save room, gee whiz, we have a 10 foot long table in there. How much more room can we have? Ideally, if the table were only half as long, it would be perfect, but this table is an old cutting room table from a sewing factory, solid maple, gorgeous and my Dad used the other half to make my mom a cutting table. My uncle Mike has it now. I know he loves it as much as my dad did.

Ya know, it's really crappy when one of your parents die. My dad was the greatest man ever, since Jesus walked the earth, that is. His motto was, "If you don't know the answer, fake it" we always wondered if he was faking it or if he really was as smart as he seemed.

My husband, who has had to re-wire and re-plumb this house (which we bought off of Mom after Dad died) would say that he faked it all, but yet, he still is amazed how Dad actually rigged up a system to run a 3 phase motor on a one hundred amp service. (And the Grumpy Man went to school for five years to be an Electrical Engineer).

Genius runs in my dad's family. I have a cousin, who is an engineer with Proctor and Gamble, who lives in Mobile and gets flown to Cincy for a day and then back home at night, only to be flown back to Cincy in the morning... But, the dumbest thing I've ever seen him do was cut open a golf ball, only to have it explode all over my brother's bedroom.

My grandfather never went to high school, yet, taught himself Calculus. I guess he was one of the most intelligent men ever to be in my life, yet, he barely said a handful of words to anyone. Grandma did all the talking.

My Aunt Hazel is a genius when it comes to human nature. She understands people and emotions and loves everyone.

Uncle Bill is another story all together. I'm not really sure where his genius lies, He's always been Uncle Bill to me. He seemed to always be searching for the next fun thing to do, yet, we respected him because he seemed to command it.

I've never really been around Uncle Rayford that much. Just plain old "GOOD" comes to mind with him. Very religious, monetarily poor, good neighbor and decent human. His morals and values would never be in question. Sanity is only in doubt when you meet his wife. Aunt Barbara Faye is a hoot! Good Christian woman whose mind loops and turns so much you'd think you were on a roller coaster at Six Flags!

My middle son, Daniel has inherited the Dabbs brain. He can do math sums in his head, understands mechanics, science.... he even beat my dad at checkers.

Even though Genius-ness runs in our family, you sometimes doubt the validity of it, hence, the golf ball incident. We've been known to do some of the most stupid things, out of curiosity, the desire to know or just plain-old boredom. Take a seat in the very back of the room, at least 12 feet away when you hear one of us say "Wonder what happens when.....". You've been warned, the Dabbs curiosity is not to be taken lightly.
